Объект всемирного наследия ЮНЕСКО (ЮАР)
Таунг-Скал-Фоссил-Сайт – это одно из добавлений к объекту, внесенному в Список всемирного наследия в 1999 г. Здесь в 1924 г. был найден знаменитый череп Таунга, принадлежавший «австралопитеку африканус». Долина Макапан, также добавленная в состав данного объекта наследия, выделяется обилием найденных в здешних пещерах археологических следов, подтверждающих присутствие человека около 3,3 млн. лет тому назад. Эта территория содержит важные свидетельства происхождения и эволюции человечества. Ископаемые остатки, обнаруженные здесь, сделали возможной идентификацию ряда образцов древних гоминид, в особенности – образцов парантропа, датируемых периодом между 4,5 и 2,5 млн. лет тому назад. Также найденные находки являются свидетельством начала использования в быту огня в период от 1,8 до 1,0 млн. лет тому назад.

They did a great job putting this together. Although there are so many holes to the theory of evolution, they had lots of fun interactive exhibits. The cafe was good also and my mom loved the coffee. They had nice shops, clean bathrooms and my favorite was the underground water ride!!!!!! Will visit again.
Beautiful south Africa, this is a must to visit. If you want to know more about the culture and experience Africa I suggest you visit here. It's worth it. I have been here Many times even help conferences here. Events and golf days. This is one of my favourite places to visit. You get to interact and learn more about the culture and the beautiful of South Africa. There is so much to see here and experience. The restaurant is awesome you get to try all sorts of food. The service is fantastic and the people are really friendly and helpful. It's really a must to visit if you near Johannesburg or Pretoria you will not be sorry. I also suggest this place for people visiting from other countries and for family day out with friends too or conferences or events you will not be sorry. Hopefully one day I get to visit this beautiful place again. Beautiful south Africa.
Brilliant for a days outing. Not too far from Jhb and the whole thing is done really well. A visit down into the cradle is also worthwhile. Food available and you can go on a short boat ride. Great views and a real sense of history. Good for the kids as well and a great learning experience for them. Not too pricey.
This place is worth for a visit because it shows our human evolution from past to present , very nice parking and clean toilet. I don't think someone will be bored here.
If you visit to RSA this is a must place to know. Our visit were very informative and funny because it has a few kind of teach games
