Замки Бомарис и Харлех (в основном это работа виднейшего военного инженера того времени Джеймса из Сент-Джорджа) и укрепленные комплексы Карнарвон и Конви находятся на территории древнего княжества Гуинедд в северном Уэльсе. Эти исключительно хорошо сохранившиеся памятники являются свидетелями колонизации и оборонительных работ, имевших место при правлении Эдуарда I (1272-1307 гг.), а также - примером военной архитектуры того времени.

Can only comment on the New Year fireworks celebrations. They were good if you happen to be around the area. There aren't a lot of other places in this part of Wales doing fireworks if you fancy waiting for midnight here in the square opposite the castle. A good crowd gathered, enough to fill the square. Fireworks were great. A donation is recommended to keep them running.

Lovely little Welsh town, lots of lovely shops and places to eat. Parking is easy, we always use the grass parking area and never had any problems parking. The castle has a nice kids play area that my little ones like to go on. Stunning views of the Walsh mountains. Cabbing is also fun off the pier.

Even on a very windy day this a stunning place to visit . They are renovating visitor centre at present and main car park is being used for flood defence work but easy enough to park by sea wall just a couple of minutes walk. Amazing views across to Snowdonia. Wow!
