Руины Великого Зимбабве, который, согласно древней легенде, был столицей царицы Савской, являются уникальными свидетельствами существования бантуязычной народности шона в период ХI-ХV вв. Этот город площадью около 80 га являлся важнейшим центром торговли и пользовался известностью с начала Средних веков.

The scenery. The cultural significance. This place is a must go. Facilities are a bit run down though. Would have loved to see the museum at 100%

Een van de vele verloren beschavingen in de wereld. Goed voor een dag wandelen, mogelijkheid om er iets te eten en te dringen. Ook dans attracties en souvenirs in- en buiten het park te kopen. Ligt bijna op de hoofdweg van Harare naar Zuid Afrika. Zeker de moeite om te bezoeken als u van geschiedenis en wandelen houdt.

The place is a must-see for all those who like to follow the history of civilization. It a place of wondering as the ruins will tell untold stories about what the past was like. No historian has managed to tell enough of what you see with your own eyes. If you get a good guide, ask for traditional herbs too the as you climb the Acropolis hill. There is one herb called "Muchemedza mbuya". Ask for the meaning and purpose. You will never forget the experience.
